34     Story

Tara and Paco are on the same plane to London. Paco is the sales manager of a travel firm in Barcelona. His firm organizes alternative activity holidays in Galicia, in northern Spain. He tells Tara that he is on his way to London because he has an interview with a travel journalist.


When they arrive in London, Tara and Paco say goodbye. She goes to the baggage hall to collect her suitcase, but Paco only has hand baggage, so he goes straight through to meet the journalist – Ben Murphy.

Culture note
In Amerikaanse restaurants moet u op het volgende letten. In veel restaurants – niet alleen in dure eetgelegenheden – worden de gasten door de kelner naar de tafel geleid. Als dat niet het geval is, is het toch ongebruikelijk om bij andere mensen aan tafel plaats te nemen. Het personeel stelt zich vaak met de voornaam voor. U hoeft zichzelf echter niet voor te stellen! Men verwacht dat er een fooi van ongeveer 15% tot 20% van de rekening wordt gegeven.
